Yes, I have had the same problem processing data from site weather stations.� It appears that when given only global horizontal, there is a glitch in the calculations around sunrise and sunset.� I work around this with some macros that calculate sunrise and sunset.� I then scan the file and delete the flash before sunrise and after sunset if I find it and also set the diffuse solar to the global input.



It also seems that the calculation will produce a little greater direct solar than I find in “standard” files, but this is probably due to the other default data it is calculation with.� We plan to try modifying our weather stations to record diffuse solar so we can get the direct by simple subtraction. �

Hi,

I'm using the Weather Converter program to create an custom epw file. I've input global horizontal radiation data and allow the converter to create direct normal solar radiation data. The converter works well for the first month, but the direct normal radiation values spike several times for the rest of the data. I went through and checked that the global horizontal radiation data has no spikes. I'm using 15 minute intervals. Below is a readout of the audit file:

There were 26 warnings, all interestingly at hour 19.
