RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] OutputControl:ReportingTolerances for Reporting Unmet Hours

Hisham,

The value is a judgment on the part of the energy modeler and should reflect realistic expectations for the HVAC system control.  I like to use 0.5C, although I think you can justify up to 1C, depending on the system.  The E+ default value is too small, in my opinion, for almost every system and can produce large numbers of unmet heating / cooling load hours.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] OutputControl:ReportingTolerances for Reporting Unmet Hours

Dear group,

Please, can anyone define exactly where to get this value? Default OutputControl:ReportingTolerances is 0.2C in e+ and 0.5C in DB, I searched the group but no posts defined this clearly.

If there is some procedure to determine this tolerance for each certain project, then please describe it.

Hisham
