Thanks for the response, but I still had the same issue.  It looks like any time that a macro is referenced in the body of a file, the expansion gets put at the start of a new line, which necessitates a comma or semicolon being inserted prior to the macro (unless the last thing before the macro is a comma or semicolon).  Anyhow, I figured out how to make it work by inserting the evaluated macro values in as schedule values and then referencing the schedules in the conditional statements.  Thanks for your help!
