RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] how to get the longwave radiation emitted from a surface due to its solar gain

The solar gain absorbed on a surface will raise the temperature some but it is just one term in a broad energy balance used to calculate surface temperature.  The longwave is emitted (and received) based on the resulting surface temperature (and the surrounding zone surfaces).  Unfortunately, the way that the absorbed solar is rolled up in the energy balance means that there is no direct way of reporting which portion of that heat then becomes longwave ( it could also get stored in the wall, convect heat to the air, or conduct out the backside ).   Two useful output variables here are Surface Inside Face Net Surface Thermal Radiation Heat Gain Rate per Area [W/m2] and Surface Inside Face Solar Radiation Heat Gain Rate per Area [W/m2].  You could look at how these correlate to each other during your runs, but the specific output variable you asked about does not exist (nor would it be easy to calculate) .

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] how to get the longwave radiation emitted from a surface due to its solar gain

May I ask how to get the longwave radiation emitted from a surface due to its solar gain in EnergyPlus? Is there a specific output variable related to this?

Thanks!
