I suggest you try Openstudio, it's free and well supported (look for previous questions and ask help on Unmet Hours)

Hi,

I want to ask if there is any free downloadable software available with GUI that can be used to model basic building model, including envelope details and HVAC system and is able to generate an idf  that can be later used  by EnergyPlus?
