Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Variable flow series powered induction unit

.. each fan will need different flow and power. Flow can be split easily. Power should reflect the actual ECM power associated with the flow, including somewhat different pressure rise at each flow condition. I don't think that ECMs follow the same power curve as a VSD motor; it might be closer to linear, but I'm not sure about that.

Mmm...since it is zone equipment, specify say 3 with different fans and switch them on and off with ems to approximate the variable fan.

The series fan powered boxes are in the zones and a VAV system provides primary air to the building. Is there a zone fan system that is variable volume/variable speed?

AirTerminal:DualDuct:VAV ?
And on the AHU side, I guess you need one Airloop with two supply fans in parallel, one for the hot deck and one for the cold deck. I'm sure you can choose what kind of fan, but I've never had to model this configuration.

We have a project that specifies series fan powered boxes with ECM motors that are variable speed. In dead band, the fan flow is at the minimum, ramping up based on the difference between room setpoint temperature and room temperature. The maximum heating flow is 2/3 of the maximum cooling flow.

The InputOutput Reference states the fan type must be constant flow but I am wondering if you could work around this restriction with an EMS strategy?
