RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Airflownetwork Linkage

I've not modelled AFN with the ducts in that mode. I.e. have always ignored duct leakage and use the other AFN analysis mode. Have you tried Dr Gu? Perhaps they are fully balanced as you suspect. We usually try to design this way in my office for most spaces.

Thanks Jean, but I have a full network of windows and flow paths.  It is just getting the HVAC flow integrated.  The examples all have duplicate nodes back through the air loop and defined leakage in ducts before air actually gets to the zone.  I was hoping to get air into a zone as simply as the exhaust fan can remove air from a zone.  Iâ??m looking at zone pressures and I canâ??t get them to move when the air system comes on, which means they are not modeled or fully balanced.

I think a requirement is at least two cracks abounding to outdoor with a path connection, however complicated, to each other. The HVAC supply then just splices in. You can make the cracks very "tight", but they must be there.

I have reviewed an airflownetwork sample file, but I am having some trouble getting a simple supply air flow into the model.  The sample IDF has lots of leakages associated with components which I donâ??t need.  My building supplies air to zones and all air actually returns as makeup air for a kitchen exhaust system.  I figured out how to do an exhaust fan and it will pull the building negative when it runs, but I have not succesed in getting supply air to turn the building positive.  If you are an airflownetwork expert, I would appreciate a little guidance?that hopefully doesnâ???t include having to model every potential leakage point in the systemâ?¦

Thanks in advance?
