Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Earth tube not working

Hi Jeremiah,
I am facing the issue you addressed three years ago, namely connecting an earthtube to an ERV.  You said you would experiment with EMS.  Could you dig into your archives and share with me this EMS program?

Many thanks in advance

Vincent

Dolf,

Thanks!
Problem solved, looks like I had my controls for min and max temperatures setup in a way that was not having the system work.  I mis -interpreted the IO reference, as it uses 20c for both... I guess in the future I will consult an example file to double check the IO ref...  Below is the working inputs.. Now I will experiment with EMS to use the earth tube for Outdoor Air SystemNode Conditions so that I can feed my earth tube air to the ERV and 2 stage cooling coil with humidity control.. (I may have another post if I run into trouble with EMS)

Dear list,

I still am not finding any reason this earth tube is not working> Am I suppose to connect it to the HVAC system using nodes?  The documentation does not specify so it seems unlikely..  Attached is the file, any help would be very appreciated.  Interestingly, the outputs for earth tube reporting do not cause a warning, so apparently the model is doing something, just not anything useful...

Thanks for any help on this one and kind regards.

Hello,
My model with earth tube cooling is not showing any results from earth tube output variables.  The inputs I am using seem reasonable and I have read the reference Is this object suppose to connect to the HVAC with nodes? I can send the IDF if anyone is willing to take a look and have pasted the object below.
