The field "Fan schedule name" of the object AvailabilityManager:NightCycle shall be the same as the "Availability Schedule Name" of the fan. Moreover, you should specify the AvailabilityManager:NightCycle in the AvailabilityManagerAssigmentList.

In the folder C:\EnergyPlusV8-4-0\ExampleFiles (or similar name) you should find the file ExampleFiles-ObjectsLink.html. Look for examples for AvailabilityManager:NightCycle
