Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Weather data for: Ajloun and As-Salt, Jordan [2 Attachments]

For the benefit of those 99% that are not familiar with these two cities, I attach the following map to show where they are:

There seems to be an assumption or maybe wish there's a magical data base of weather data for every location on earth, but that's  simply not the case. I've been processing weather data intensely for the past 10 years, and have data for up to 10,000 locations, but for this area the closest available weather stations are two in Amman (JOR_AMMAN-AP_402700_IW2, JOR_AMMAN-QUEEN-ALIA-AP_402720_IW2), and one in Irbid (JOR_IRBED_402550_IW2) (see map below).

These are IWEC2 "typical year" weather files developed for and copyright by ASHRAE, so they are not free. Individual IWEC2 weather files are available at my Web site at weather.whiteboxtechnologies.com .

Having answered the question, I would also like to make a couple of suggestions for all requests for weather data in the future:

1. Give the coordinates of the location, not just the name of the city, for the convenience of those people who may want to respond.

2. Mention the type of weather data needed, i.e., "typical year", historical year ?

3. Mention if you're only interested in free weather data.
