Mr Mensah,
There are many example files which use DX cooling. You may not be aware that the folder for E+ example files also contains a couple of .html files which list attributes of the example files
Take a look at those and you'll be able to find an example which fits your need.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Mode Switch Object in EnergyPlus for 1 Zone Data Center Example File- Please Help

Dear Experts and Researchers,

I am very new to energyplus and trying to understand a few things.

I am currently trying to Model a conventional DX Cooling Unit for a single Zone Data Center in EnergyPlus.

Thankfully, i found an Example File for a Pumped Refrigerant DX Cooling System in the EnergyPlus Example File with Name 1ZoneDataCenterCRAC_wPumpedDXCoolingCoil.idf.

However, the description provided by energyplus indicates that, the  "The CRAC system has been setup to represent a Lieber DSE 125 with pumped  refrigerant
economizer DX cooling coil system".

I have attached the schematic for the operation modes for
1. Free Cooling (Pumped Refrigerant) and Economization Mode and
2. Conventional DX Cooling Mode

My questions are as follows,
1. How is the mode switch done in EnergyPlus? (Which Particular Class List, or Object is responsible for that? Please do bear with me since am very new to EnergyPlus and thanks for understanding. Have gone through the class list one after the other and it appears I couldnt locate how it works. Please help.

2. Assuming I want to edit the file to only model the DX Cooling Mode, how will be the best approach to this problem?

3. Are there any other example files available in EnergyPlus that, can easily be edited to model a simple DX cooling system for a single Zone.? I shall be very happy to have such reference.

Thank you in advance and looking for to hearing from us.

Yours friend in urgent need

Kwesi
