[Equest-users] Reset Based on Return Air- Equest

Hi

I am trying to model existing building with Constant Volume Dual Duct (CVDD)
with ECONOMIZER. Currently building uses Siemens controller. Controller
resets mixed air, hot deck and cold deck supply air temperature based on
return air. I was wondering if it is possible to reset in E-quest based on
return air temperature instead of outside air temperature. E-quest allows me
to do the reset based on outside air. Has anyone modeled reset based on
return air temperature. If yes, can you please help me or give me
suggestions. Is it possible to have some kind of source code and then import
into E-quest? Thank you for your time and help.

I am Modeling the retirement center.

1. The main floor common areas are served by 41 @ 2 pipe fan-coil
units spread throughout. The outdoor air requirement for each zone being
served by the fan-coil units is fed from a roof mounted ERV unit with
built-in gas fired heating and DX cooling. Further, the outdoor air is
pre-conditioned by the ERV unit and fed directly into the return ducts of
the individual fan-coil units.

Question 1. We would prefer to individually zone the
main floor based on the 'space use'. What is the proper way to set-up the
outdoor air portion of the program to allow for preconditioned Outdoor air
and take advantage of the energy savings we will get from the ERV?

Question 2. If the zones throughout the main floor
are not separated by solid walls, How will we create the partitions between
zones?

Is there a way to do it?

I'm trying to automatically adjust my window size based on a global
parameter called "Glazing Percentage". The width of the window is fixed
and the height is defined by the following expression:

4.47*(#PA("Glazing Percentage")/0.4)

However, a large glazing percentage leads to problems since the larger
window takes up space in the plenum. So I want to fix this by adjusting
the Y coordinate of the window. To do this, I tried creating the
following expression:

if (#PA("Glazing Percentage") == 0.4)
then #L("Y") = 4.37
else #L("Y") = 4.37 - (1.12*("#PA("Glazing Percentage) - 0.4))
endif

When glazing percentage is set to 0.4, the above expression sets Y to
0.00. As soon as I change it to says 0.5, eQuest crashes.
The math is correct, but there's something wrong with my syntax. Can
anyone please help?

I've attached the pd2 and inp files for reference.

Thanks,
Luka

Sorry, I fixed the typo in the expression. It should say:
if (#PA("Glazing Percentage") == 0.4)
then #L("Y") = 4.37
else #L("Y") = 4.37 - 1.12*(#PA("Glazing Percentage") - 0.4)
endif

And no, that didn't fix it.

Ok I found my mistake.

It's unnecessary to use "#L("Y") " to define the value of Y. I think I
ended up getting into a circular reference problem.

The correct expressions is:
if (#PA("Glazing Percentage") == 0.4)
then 4.37
else 4.37 - 1.12*(#PA("Glazing Percentage") - 0.4)
endif
