[Equest-users] Certification for energy modelers

ASHRAE is working on a certification.

The flurry of discussion in 2005 was specific for the tax deductions under EPAct, which defaulted to licensed professional engineers and contractors in the jurisdiction of the property, who have "...represented in writing to the taxpayer that he or she has the requisite qualifications to provide the certification under Section 4 of this notice..."

Subject: [Equest-users] Certification for energy modelers

All,

Back in 2005 there were talks about making available a certification for those who have experience and are qualified to do energy modeling much like the CEM, GBE, LEED AP. Does anyone know if there is a certification for energy modelers? Maybe through ASHRAE or AEE

Any information about it, please share.

Thanks,
