That did it - I dropped it in both the tmx and root directory of /weather.
Thank you all for the quick help

Douglas,
I just ran into the same problem, If eQuest is unable to download via internet, you can download the weather file from the link give below and place the weather file under eQuest weather file directory. ( C:\Program Files\eQUEST 3-61\Weather ). Also, make sure you have the file name similar both the places. I think it accepts only 8 characters ( ex..austintx.bin <http://doe2.com/Download/Weather/TMY/austintx.bin> ).
Weather File Link.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Equest-users] Weather File Error
Hi
New to the list, so please excuse the question if it has been asked before . . . . which I have the feeling it has. Seems like a simple issue and I'm just overlooking the obvious.
I am receiving an INITO ERRORS dialog box when simulating performance that says "Errors while reading weather files - ABORTING".
It started in V3.6, then carried over to V3.61. I have uninstalled 3.61, and reinstalled but that did nothing. I also noticed that when the system tries to download through the DOE weather site, the software seems unable to make a connection.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
