[Equest-users] Weather File (.bin) Maker/Converter for eQuest

Hello Reniel:

The EnergyPlus weather files for locations around the world can be found at http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/cfm/Weather_data.cfm.

You can download a free program called eQ_WthProc.exe at http://doe2.com/index_wth.html that will convert the file from an .epw to a .bin or .csv.

I sometimes use the program to create Excel spreadsheets of the weather data for use in energy audit calculations.

The program is a bit cumbersome to use if you do not locate the .epw files in the correct directory.  Review the readme.txt document that comes with the program and it explains how to reset the .ini file.

If you want to save the .csv, you need to access the directory where the conversion files are located before you close eQ-Proc and copy the file to a new location.  After you close eQ_Proc, the .csv file seems to disappear.

Good luck,

Paul Diglio, CEM

Hi Paul,

We need the following .bin weather files for our energy simulation:

1. Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia
2. Makkah, Saudi Arabia
3. Deniyaya, Sri Lanka
4. Doha, Qatar
5. Manama, Bahrain
6. Curitiba, Brazil

These are the current location we need for our projects in hand.

I would greatly appreciate any help getting the .bin files for these locations.

Thanks in advance.

What location do you need the bin data for?

Hi Guys,

Anyone here who can help us make a .bin weather file for specific location?
The location we need is not available in DOE Weather files.

Thanks
