[Equest-users] eQuest Crash

I have found that this is usually a cause of a missing component or something that was improperly referenced. It could be a thermal zone that is missing or a PSZ having an unconditioned zone as the control zone. Last week it was custom geothermal field that I didn't define properly.

I have only fixed these through trail and error, looking for items in the air-side or water-side HVAC that would cause the crash. I have found that it is not something that is undersized but rather a component not being where it should be. I have never found a file that would report the problem.

Sometimes it means you have a zero value in your input, which causes a divide by zero error in the simulation.

Subject: [Equest-users] eQuest Crash

Dear All,

What does it mean when eQuest just freezes during a simulation (always during HVAC simulation).

Also, people have suggested before that the SIM file be reviewed for any error messages after a crash. I cannot open the SIM file after such a freeze. The opener will just not work. Is there another way to see the SIM file?

Thanks,
