[Equest-users] Solar energy for DHW in baseline and proposed building

Dear All,

I initially thought that the source of energy used for service water heating
should be same both in the baseline and proposed building models, but in the
LEED Reference Guide, it is said that 'When the actual building design
incorporates on-site renewable or site-recovered energy, the baseline design
should be modeled based on the back-up energy source for the actual building
design, or electricity if no backup energy source is specified.'

The project concerned uses solar panels to satisfy the whole of DHW
requirement. Does this mean I can count this as a savings in the proposed
building and not in the baseline building?

Thanks,

Kishan
