Wizard mode will automatically do both for you, but if you are detailed edit mode here’s how you make a skylight and return air plenum:

Right-click on your space and select “create child component”>”child exterior wall”
Name it something like “skylight roof” and select “create from scratch”
Under “construction” select “library”
Under “starting points” select “Skylt Roof Construction”. Click OK
Under Location select “Top”
In the wall properties window, overwrite the Z value with the height of your roof. The default that is there is the ceiling height. Click OK.
Right-click the new exterior wall you just made and select “create child component”>”child window”
Make your skylight.
In the internal loads tab, right-click your plenum space. Under “zone type”, select “plenum”
Under the air-side HVAC tab, select your system
Under “return air path”, select “plenum”

Subject: [Equest-users] Skylight + Plenum

Hi,

I am modeling a displacement system therefore need a plenum to model the loads that go straight into the return air plenum. However I also have a skylight in this area require that the lighting pass through to the occupied zone. Any Ideas?
