[Equest-users] Sub-Metering

To add a quick bit to the discussion:

Report PS-B provides monthly consumptions and for each meter - I use it
in tandem with sub-meters to track monthly process loads separate from
plug loads, for LEED documentation.

* I might be wrong here, but I think what you really want to do
is create a second meter (not submeter) in eQUEST. I don't think your
sim file reports out submeter energy separately in your BEPS & BEPU
reports.

* When you create a second meter - make sure you add it to your
corresponding rate structure.

* Once you have a second meter - you can assign different
components to it - either by default (to change the whole category) or
individually.

you can sub-meter each shell. just be careful on how many meters you
apply to a model though. 25 meter limit max. you can make more but the
energy & $ applied to meters in excess of the 25 limit won't report.
typically i just create these in detailed mode by copying & pasting in
from my own set of masters. though i should note i do use the wizard to
create the external lighting power meter so the schedule is already
setup when i transition to detailed mode. then i assign the external
power schedules to the meters i create for external power.

look in the DOE22Vol1-Basics.pdf file you can download from the same
site as equest. page 164 has an example that won't cut & paste here
properly so here's one i've used before.

em1 = master meter
em-3 & em-4 are two different buildings assigned to em1
em-3- submeters are assigned to em-3
em-4- submeters are assigned to em-4

e-tr is the tradable exterior lighting power meter
e-nt is the non-tradable exterior lighting power meter

How do you sub-meter (electric and fuel) a System or an Equipment in
Plant? Can you sub-meter each Shell? Which summary report gives the
energy use per month by sub-meter? Is there documentation on how to do
this?
