You need to define what you mean by "energy check" further before anyone here can provide specific advice.

If you mean something along the lines of checking for compliance against the local energy codes/standards in play,  I would probably steer you towards something simpler than eQuest like COMcheck (also free), which generates and documents prescriptive HVAC requirements for many energy codes/standards (not all).  If you're in that boat you're simultaneously advised to pick up and become versed in the standards/codes in play to not miss anything.  Note some ordinances are picky about who may sign/certify such documentation.
If by "energy check" you mean something more complex like an ROI study, you should flesh out your intentions/situation further to solicit useful feedback regarding approach and software recommendations.  eQuest might fit your needs to a tee, or it could be overkill... hard to say so far.  If what  you're looking to accomplish is very complex and/or your time is a scarcer resource, it might also suit your interests best to seek out a qualified modeling consultant for such services - you'll find a few of those floating about here as well ;)!

Hello Everyone!
I am completely brand new to eQuest and I am trying to merely do an energy check for HVAC RTU replacements (alterations). The replacements are also "like for like". Can anyone step me through the process or send a link that will do so for me.  All the help is greatly appreciated!
