[Equest-users] Snow melting system simulation

Zheng,

It is best to reduce the amount of assumptions you make in any model. To reduce assumptions for snow melt, refer to section 51 of the 2011 ASHRAE Handbook: HVAC Applications. Table 3 should give the required information for the model. Just put the snow melt system on the hot water loop as a direct load using a schedule and load reflected in the table for your location. Of course, this is only one way to model a snow melt system, and I encourage you to investigate other alternatives that may better estimate the load for your particular circumstance.

Thanks,

David Griffin

Subject: [Equest-users] Snow melting system simulation

Hi there:

I wonder how snow melting system is simulated in EQuest? Is there a way to input the annual energy consumption which I calculated manually?
