[Equest-users] Heat Tracing

Would anyone happen to know how to model piping heat trace? I would like to account for this energy consumption in a current project, as I have a large amount of piping exposed in a parking garage ceiling and the certification program guidelines I am using, ENERGY STAR MFHR, require modeling heat trace in a proposed model, but not the baseline model.

I have found the auxiliaries tab for my DHW loop, which provides the following description from the eQUEST help file:
LOOP-AUX-KW
The auxiliary electrical load associated with this loop. The value entered should be the maximum (design) value. Hourly values are adjusted by the LOOP-AUX-SCH. This electrical load may be associated with controls, heat tracing on a pipe, or similar uses. The load is assumed to disappear; it does not show up as a load on the pipe, nor as a load in the space in which the pipe is located.
LOOP-AUX-SCH

Takes the U-name of a schedule with TYPE = MULTIPLIER that adjusts the LOOP-AUX-KW on an hourly basis. If you do not input a schedule, the load is constant all hours.
However, I am not sure how to proceed. I have not used a schedule TYPE=MULTIPLIER before, and I would like to be able to adjust the load based on outside temperature. Any help would be much appreciated.
