[Equest-users] Daikin heat pump curves

Hello Bill,

Notice in the screen shots below, curve coefficient d is supposed to be 0.07145853, however it was imported as 7.145853. Not sure what caused it but just know it took me a while and a lot of cussing to track it down. The other curves seem to import coefficient d just fine, but for some reason this one would not do it right.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Hi Byron,
Do you know which curve it was?
Thanks,
Bill

I just did the same thing for a project, however there was an error created by eQUEST during the importing process and one of the curve coefficients was off by an order of magnitude. I would recommend verifying the .inp after importing. Definitely makes it nice and saves some time though.

Daikin/McQuay sample .inp folders worked great for a geothermal model we were building for a job in Colorado. It was as simple as saving the sample .inp to the project file and choosing "Import File" to load the system information.

My local Daikin rep informed me that Daikin has begun creating .inp files with curves for Daikin/McQuay heat pump products. The following link takes you to a download site (registration req’d) to download the .inp file, a modeling guide, and a sample file.

http://www.daikinapplied.com/equest.php

I don’t have a heat pump simulation project right now, so don’t have time to look at the .inp in detail, but a surface skim through the modeling guide looks like Daikin put some thought and effort in. Nice to see support for modeling from manufacturers.

Happy Pi day!
