[Equest-users] Saving a Custom Schedule

As Jeremy mentioned below, you can apply this to any number of .inp file components. I find it to be very helpful in 90.1 compliance modeling. With a bit of work, you can set up an .inp file library of 90.1 systems, envelope assemblies. After you set it up, every time you do a similar project you can import the relevant .inp bits, or cut & paste if you’re more comfortable working directly in the text file.

For schedules in particular, be mindful to save minimum 3 components (annual/week/day schedule(s)), which will be grouped together in 3 consecutive sections in the .inp generated by eQuest.

Attached for reference is a rough and relatively simple example schedule (used to define shading with trees that drop their leaves through the winter).

It takes only a minute or so (faster once you’ve done it once), and can definitely save time for work you can anticipated importing into future projects.

Paste the schedules from your inp file into a text file and save the text file with “.inp” on the end. When you want to bring them into another project, go to File/Import from eQuest (you have to be in detailed mode), or manually cut/paste into the inp file.

You can also save/import default loads, equipment, performance curves, etc.

Cheers,

Jeremy

Hi All,

I am creating a few custom occupancy and lighting schedules for a project and want to file them away for future projects. I can’t quite figure out how to do that. Any suggestions?

Many thanks!
