[TRNSYS-users] Doubt in Type 997

Dear sir,
Within the GHP library, Ground heat exchanger (Type 997), i didnt
understand the parameter "12" Length of surface extension: left (The
distance that the surface (insulating layer or conditioned space) above the
ground heat exchanger pipes extends beyond the edges of the pipes and
towards the left (decreasing x)).
By default it is taking 2 m length. How does the change in this parameter
effects the performance if i have taken a system of one pipe in one pipe
layer. So please guide me.
