[Virtual-sim] VE-Ware / Sketchup Ground Cover

I am working on my first project with the VE-Ware/Sketchup combination.
I feel I have a solid understanding of the basics, and am currently
wrestling with my architect's aesthetic models to get the rooms/zones to
be recognized correctly, but I have a large worry on my mind that this
combination of free tools may not ultimately in any way/shape/form
account for ground cover over half-basement levels... The architect's
models are consistently paying close attention to the shape of the
landscaping around the building, and I'm worried that ultimately VE-Ware
will not be able to do much more than treat any such drawn surfaces as
"shading objects."

Is there something basic I'm missing or some manner of addressing what
is and isn't an underground exterior wall? Does VE-Ware/Sketchup have
the capability of recognizing this condition for design analysis on its
own?

I'd appreciate any feedback,

~Nick
