[BLDG-SIM] Employment Opportunity for Energy and Sustainability Analysts

Flack + Kurtz, an MEP consulting firm, is seeking Energy and
Sustainability Analysts.  Flack + Kurtz is a global leader in MEP
engineering and has a reputation for innovation and outstanding service.
We are committed to providing a full range of analysis services for
green building design and alternative energy and are seeking individuals
with a passion for sustainable engineering practices.  This position is
located in our San Francisco, CA office.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Provide energy modeling and analysis services to mechanical, electrical,
lighting, and plumbing engineers.  Work with architects, engineers,
building owners, and developers as a sustainability and LEED consultant
on various high profile, large scale commercial building projects.

*	Work with architects and building owners to provide energy
efficiency advice and assistance in sustainable engineering practices;
*	Utilize energy simulation tools and spreadsheet analysis to
evaluate various MEP system options in terms of energy savings and
operating costs;
*	Be able to work in a team atmosphere, willing to collaborate
with many different disciplines.

 

Qualifications

            

Educational:

Graduate engineering degree preferred; technical degree or equivalent
experience required.

 

Skills & Experience:

*	Minimum of 1 year work experience in an energy related
discipline;
*	Familiarity with energy, ventilation, and thermal comfort codes
desired;
*	Excellent writing and presentation skills;
*	Background preferred in one or more of the following:  

	*	Building Simulation (Energy Modeling, Daylight Analysis,
CFD Modeling)
	*	HVAC or electrical design experience
	*	Renewable Energy and Distributed Generation analysis
	*	Water conservation practices

*	Be able to work with, or learn, various software programs to
perform building energy simulation analysis including Trane Trace,
DOE-2, and EnergyPlus.

 

This is a full-time salaried position with benefits. Compensation based
on experience.
