[Bldg-sim] eQUEST: Crashing on BDL Error

Hi Dan - eQUEST raw input files are ASCII text files and can be edited with
any test editor. Open the <filename>.INP in the eQUEST project directory.
Search for Dishwasher. Delete the entry that includes that reference. It
should be in the section where all loops are developed. All commands end
with "..", so you will be deleting everything following the ".." above and
including the ".." for that loop. Be sure that the file is saved as text.
When you reload it in eQUEST, the issue should be gone and you will need to
redefine the loop. I would make a copy of the INP file before messing with
it just to be safe.

FYI, process loads should be defined in the "Process / DHW Loads" tab of the
primary loop, in this case heating. Also, keep in mind that the loop will
need to flow whenever a process or DHW load occurs, even if there is no
heating load. This can add pump usage and loop loses to your project.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] eQUEST: Crashing on BDL Error

Hello,

I'm currently running a model for a restaurant and was trying to manipulate
the water-side HVAC to account for a process load (dishwasher). I'm
relatively new to eQUEST and made a mistake that lead to the following BDL
error message:

Dishwasher cannot be specified as a PRIMARY-LOOP due to incorrect SUBTYPE;
valid PRIMARY-LOOP must have a SUBTYPE of PRIMARY

I have tried to fix the error, but every time I try to change the primary
loop, delete the loop, or any other alteration eQUEST will automatically
shut down and I can't make the changes so I'm basically sitting on a useless
model at the moment. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dan
