[Bldg-sim] A Response & Statement on Energy Modeling Services: Meaning and Value

I would like to see an explanation on the approach for estimation of
effort and cost on the various phases throughout a typical project. The
effort for each stage is fairly easy to establish, but it has been
difficult to account for iterations within the life of the project. It
may be the case where energy modeling is not given the same
consideration as the design teams when large changes require large
rework effort. Does anyone have information that could help establish a
fee structure for projects that start early and reoccur throughout the
project phases? The push for integrated building performance in the
future is forcing building performance simulation and energy management
to the center of design focus. The original response from Nick, Bill,
and Pasha is a great resource that hopefully gets a lot of attention.

Thanks,
