Some PCM materials do not necessarily behave like ideal latent heat storage:
sudden increase in specific capacity at one exact temperature. The specific
capacity can vary dramatically with temperatures within the limit of melting
range. For instance, this range can vary between 10 to 30degC depending on
individual PCM. You might want to try to assign specific capacity to PCM as
a function of temperature, if this can be done in EnergyPlus?

Mike,
How about trying assert the PCM a large specific heat value? that way, the
temperature change would be small and phase change behavier might be
approximated?
