Hi Christian,

I believe it's that your roof coordinates are not in the LLC, CCW, relative 
terms as set in the surfacegeometry.

If you put the roof in as:


SURFACE:HEATTRANSFER,
     G.000.Roof.5,            !- User Supplied Surface Name
     Roof,                    !- Surface Type
     massive roof,            !- Construction Name of the Surface
     G.000,                   !- InsideFaceEnvironment
     ExteriorEnvironment,     !- OutsideFaceEnvironment

     SunExposed,              !- Sun Exposure
     WindExposed,             !- Wind Exposure
     0.0000,                  !- View Factor to Ground
     4,                       !- Number of Surface Vertex Groups -- Number 
of (X,Y,Z) groups in this surface
     -4.000000000000000e+000,9.999999999999998e-002,3.000000000000000e+000, 
!- X,Y,Z ==> Vertex 4
     0.000000000000000e+000,0.000000000000000e+000,3.000000000000000e+000, 
!- X,Y,Z ==> Vertex 1
     0.000000000000000e+000,4.100000000000000e+000,3.000000000000000e+000, 
!- X,Y,Z ==> Vertex 2

The error message goes away.

(Note I just used yours so the Vertex comments are incorrect).
