[EnergyPlus_Support] weather file error

I have received the fatal error listed below when attempting to run a 
wheather file simulation.  The only modification I have done to 
the "EPW" weather data file is change DB temperatures for two calendar 
days. The simulation converges when using unmodified wheather files. 
Are "EPW" files meant to be modified? If so, how can I change wheather 
data without affecting the formating of the "EPW" file. 

**  Fatal  ** Unexpected End-of-File on EPW Weather file, while 
reading header information, looking for header=LOCATION
