[BLDG-SIM] Modelling of a domed roof?

Brian,

An interesting question. I've never modeled a dome so this
is based on intuition.

If you are thinking about comparing different dome
insulation levels, dome shapes, etc.., then I would be
careful and have a surface for every difference of 10 to 30
degrees (this adds up to a lot of surfaces).

On the other hand, if the dome will not change between
simulation permutations, I would probably just use nine
surfaces: eight each 45 degrees from one another around the
dome each tilted 45 degrees and another flat one on top.

Remember, in the model these surfaces can be square as long
as the areas add up to the correct total area and they
don't cast shadows on each other.
