EnergyPlus also has numerous options for modeling PV systems. There are three models for PV output: simple fixed efficiency, equivalent one-diode (TRNSYS/Otterbien model), and the King empirical model from Sandia Nat. Lab. For BIPV, you can set up the PV modules to be tightly coupled with the Heat Balance Model's treatment of surface heat transfer. There is also a model for when the panels are suspended slightly from the surface to form a ventilated cavity between them and the exterior envelope. The only BIPV/T available right now combines with solar ventilation preheat using transpired collectors, however a fuller complement of PVT models is planned for next year. Right now you can only do grid-tied systems. Energy-10 version 1.8 is using EnergyPlus for PV with the Sandia/King model.

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] about pv simulation

dear all, i am trying to do simulation for bipv and bipv/t in residential buildings for annual eletricity yield and energy efficiency.
what programs are available for that research purpose? is espr suitable or should i use pv program PV sol or PvSyst?
is espr good for that simulation?
it will be highly appreciated if you can give any suggestion
best regards,

matthew
