[BLDG-SIM] eQUEST- adding a roof

Hi Kathryn,

There are two ways to do this. First, you can split the first floor into
two shells in the wizard, one which has an exterior roof, and the other
which is under the second floor. You can then adjust the ceiling and roof
properties accordingly and have the computer figure everything out (this
also works well for walk-out basements where most of the basement is
underground, but a few rooms have external walls.

The other option is to modify properties in the detailed edit mode. You can
copy existing roofs, making sure that you put them in the correct rooms and
assign them the right geometries, this way you are sure that they have the
right properties. Sometimes the angle of the wall will affect the way it
looks on the screen. Also, sometimes when you create a new surface before
deleting the old surface (the old interior ceiling), all you can see is the
interior ceiling.

Hope this helps.

~Karen~
