David,
The default additional ERV supply and exhaust pressure drops are 1.5"
each, you may be able to set these down, check with the mechanical
engineer. Is your ERV set up to be a 'sidecar', or is it in-line with
the main fans? If sidecar, then the ERV fans are switched, else the
additional ERV pressure drop deprecates performance year-around.
Does ERV-RECOVER-MODE = OA-HEATING ? Acutally it can't, if your using
ERV-RUN-CTRL = WHEN-MIN-OA as I just re-discovered. This is probably
why I use OA-EXHAUST-DT for sensible-only heat recovery, so I can turn
off the heat recovery in the summer where it's not going to any good.
Have 3 fairly recent posts on heat recovery, see..

Hope that helps...

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] Heat Revovery in eQUEST
Dear all,
I am modelling an office building in the cold climate (Zone 7). The
baseline case for ASHRAE 90.1-2004 is VAV system. To evaluate the effect
of air system heat recovery, I add the ERV in the Outdoor Air/Heat
Recovery 1&2 tab. I select the ERV type as Sensible Heat Exange with
effective as 0.52, the control sequence set as "when minimum OA".
However, the simulatio result I got is kind of weird, cooling, fan and
pump energy increase a lot, while the heating energy use was reduced
only around 6%. Could somebody tell me what maybe the problem casuing
this weired results or how can I check whether the result is correct?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
David
