Dear All,

This is regarding night sky light pollution and is being asked here in
context of LEED SS Cr 8 (Light pollution reduction).

Project is lighting two of the facades with metal halide lamps. The tilt
angle of the Lamps is such that almost all of the lumens emitted will strike
through the faced surface and thus, in effect, will not cause any night sky
light pollution.

As per LEED reference guide, the maximum tilt able angle should be
considered while deciding the number of lumens sent above the horizontal
plane i.e. 90 degree from nadir. Will there be any concession in this
project where, of course, lamps are throwing lumens up side but most of them
being reflected back to ground by façade and hence, are not causing any
night sky light pollution.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Prabhat Barnwal
