[Bldg-sim] DOE-2 INP file to Radiance RAD file

The issue that arises is DOE2 geometry is only 2D. So if DrawBDL is not a
2D to 3D converter you would need to write a ruby subscript in order to
accommodate. Once you can get the inp* geometry to idf* (2D to 3D) it
should be no problem. There might be something on the internet that may do
such a thing, but programmers that know how do to such a thing would
probably only take a few days or less to figure it out.

   - Subject: [Bldg-sim] DOE-2 INP file to Radiance RAD file

Dear all,

Has anyone tried to utilize geometry information from an existing
eQUEST/DOE-2 model's input file to create geometry for a Radiance
daylighting model in the *.RAD file format? (without having to build the
geometry again from scratch I mean)

Theoretically I could come up with the following route but haven't tested it
yet:
Export *.INP to *.IDF using DrawBDL –> open the IDF file using OpenStudio in
Sketch UP --> export to Radiance file format *.RAD using the Sketch Up
plugin SU2RAD.

Any ideas? Thanks,
