I am unsure as to what you mean trying to get an existing building, especially an older one, to comply with 62.1. It probably WON'T.
 
Also, the first CA Title-24 was 1977. So it probably flew to the CA Mechanical Code at the time (Uniform Building Code).

I am working on an existing building, trying to show compliance with ASHRAE 62.1. The supply and return diffusers are in the ceiling and that forces dividing by a 0.8 factor that increases the outside air requirement by 25%. The building was designed in the late sixties to CA T-24. It appears to have about 20% outside air. This seems pretty good, at first look, but it doesn't seem to satisfy 62.1. Any and all advice will be appreciated.
