Sambhav,

You must be new in this area.  Let me give it a try.

1.  This is about the cooling tower.  The design wet bulb temperature is 
the wet bulb (saturated) air temperature at the deign condition.  This wet 
bulb temperature adds 10F (approach) is the assumed water temperature 
leaving the tower to enter the condenser.  This assumed temperature 
compares with 85F, whichever is lower is the one that is going to be used 
for the condenser water supply  temperature by this design.  Is this a 
little clearer?   :-)

2.  This is about Primary-Seconary pump system.  Let me draw the diagram 
to make it easier to understand.
 
 
 
As shown in the above system diagram, using the Secondary pump loop as the 
pump cure for your system calculation.

Dear Sir,
                I have some doubts in ASHRAE90.1 statements as follows


Page 178  G.3.1.3.11

1 Heat rejection: "Condenser water design supply temperature shall be
85F or 10F approach at design wet bulb temperature,whichever is lower,
with a design temperature rise of 10F". I could not understand meaning
of this statement can anyone through light on this statement.

2: G 3.1.3.10

Chilled water pumps: "Chilled water pumps in system less than
120000ft2 shall be modeled as a primary/secondary systems with
secondary pump riding the pump cure" Can anyone explain the meaning of
this statement.
