Second on Robert's comment.  That is not enough to get an ID credit.

Reduction in energy relates directly to  EAc1 and can be accounted for in that
credit.  No ID credit would be available for reducing peak load.

RE: innovation in design credit for reduction in peak energy load

Has anyone applied for and/ or gotten an innovation in design credit for
reduction in peak energy load for any version of LEED? We're working on a
project under LEED NC v2.2 and have significant reduction in lighting load
during peak hours by using solatubes.
Please provide any contact info and details if you can.
I appreciate the assistance. It seems like the energy model can be manipulated
to show the project savings during peak times and that would be enough
information needed for a submittal to the GBCI.
THANKS for being LEEDers!!

Demba and Vikram,

Alright. Thanks for the clarification.

Exhaust fan power is to be the same for both designs. You apportion the

Vikram,

Thanks for your reply.

So, does it mean I will have to model the exhaust fan in the baseline model but
in a fashion such that it consumes power proportionate to your proposed design
(supply, return and exhaust) but falls within the Allowable Fan System bhp value
of Appendix G. Am I right?

Thank you.

Vinay

I'm pretty sure that your fan power allowance in 90.1 is for all fan energy
(including exhaust). So for example if your baseline fan allowance is 20kW
(hypothetical), you will need to apportion that allowance between supply and
exhaust similar to your designed building.

There was an extensive discussion about this around a year ago on this list
(check the archives).

Vinay,

It is required to also model the exhaust fans in the Baseline. Use same cfm and
fan powers as in the Proposed.

Hello All,

Do we have to model the exhaust fans also according to Appendix G for a Baseline
model?
If yes, how should we design the cfm?

Thank you very much.

Vinay
