Gut feeling is this shouldn't be a problem, provided you are actually
lighting the space with fixtures intended for that sole purpose.

If you're trying to claim the area because it's sorta lit due to spill
from a roadway pole or entry wallpacks... I would expect resistance.

Note 90.1 has a vaguer "special feature areas" category that may be a
better fitting description than "plaza."

Subject: [Equest-users] 90.1-2007 Exterior lighting - playgrounds

Question about exterior lighting power allowance for a 90.1-2007 LEED
baseline model with a playground area inside the LEED project boundary.
Would the playground qualify as a plaza area or special feature area
under 90.1-2007 Table 9.4.5? Has anyone successfully submitted a
project for LEED review with a playground area classified under this
exterior lighting power allowance?

Thanks in advance,

Steven
