Arpan,
You could also talk to Equa in Sweden. They have a building modelling
tool (IDA ICE) and a tunnel modelling tool (IDA Road and Tunnel). They
both use Equa's general purpose physics solver. The tunnel tool in
particular can model the temperature field in the earth/ rock
surrounding the tunnel (as well as network airflow, vehicle movement and
pollutant transport). It would probably be trivial for the guys at IDA
to implement some of the tunnel models in ICE to provide you with a
"climate battery" model.
