[EnergyPlus_Support] HVAC/Equipment, What are Nodes?
What do the "nodes" in the program refer to? How do I
use them?
The nodes are the actual connections of the components to the
Branches and then the branches to the Loops. Think of the Loops as
physical pieces of pipes. There are segments of pipes that have to
be connected which are the branches and then the components have to be
connected in this piping network, which in this case is in the Branch
structure. The nodes are the actual connection points.
Look in the EngineeringDoc.PDF in the BUILDING SYSTEM SIMULATION SYSTEM
MANAGER / PROCESSES AIR LOOPS and read this entire section. In this
section the system schematic is shown. The nodes are numbered in
this example, but they are actually ASCII text which numbers are a
subset. These nodes are the connection points that piece together
this system.
Inside the program, the nodes have various attributes such as current
temperature, maximum and minimum massflow as well as current
massflow.
