[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Bug/Problem report, ContFanCycComp will cause error.

The furnace documentation states that the heat/cool furnace and the
dx cooling coil need to have the same fan control designation
(CycFanCycCoil or ContFanCycCoil) [I/O Reference Manual, page 514]:

"It should be noted that the volumetric air flow rate specified in
the direct air unit for the controlling zone should properly reflect
the fractional volumetric air flow rate specified in the furnace
object. In addition, the DX cooling coil operation mode must be
specified consistently with the furnace operating mode (e.g., with
CycFanCycCoil for Furnace operating mode, the DX cooling coil
operation mode must be CycFanCycComp)."

Because the fan control designation is contained in two different
objects (heat/cool furnace and DX cooling coil), it is currently
difficult for the program to trap a mismatch and issue a message that
would clearly identify the problem. However, we are planning to add
data structures within the program that will allow "sharing" of
information among various air-side components (objects). Among other
benefits, these new data structures will allow better error trapping
of improper inputs and allow for more helpful warning/error messages.
