When you installed the EnergyPlus software on your computer it 
created a subdirectory that contains comprehensive documentation on 
the installation and use of EnergyPlus.  If you accepted the default 
EnergyPlus installation the files will be located at:

c:\energyplus\documentation   

The documentation can also be downloaded (PDF format) from the 
EnergyPlus website at:

http://www.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/documentation.html
