[EnergyPlus_Support] infiltration through closed windows
Sorry to keep emailing out like this but I promise this is the last one...at
least for the next 15 minutes.
I had 2 questions on the cracks created surrounding the perimeter of the
windows/doors.
1. When my air mass flow coefficient (Cq) per meter of crack is less then
0.0005, energy plus specifies no air flow through these cracks and I get
numerous warning messages about my inside surface heat balance not converging
since my maximum temperature differences is greater then the 0.002 temperature
minimum. Is there a requirement for this field that the value be greater or
equal to 0.0005 and why is it effecting my surface heat balance.
2. When I do have Cq = 0.0005, I have bidirectional flow through the cracks
which I thought energy plus only modeled for large vertical openings. Can you
explain to me why I have bidirectional flow for cracks around my
windows/doors.
Thanks
Ian
