[EnergyPlus_Support] COIL:Water:SimpleCooling UA value?
Dear group,
I am trying to model a cooling coil to lower air temperature from 25ºC 50%
rh to 8ºC 90% rh (0.94 m3/s) using water from 7ºC to 12ºC (1.43 kg/s).
For this, I used a UA value of 10000 W/K but I only got an output air
temperature of 13.6ºC (instead of 8ºC). I tried with different values and I
almost got the same result. I also tried with a much bigger value (50000
W/K) and the output temperature was just 13.57ºC. This is funny because I
thought that with such a big value, I should get an effectiveness of 1, so I
should get and output air temperature of 7ºC (considering a counter flow
heat exchanger model).
The coil control valve is fully open, because the air temperature is below
the set point (due to lack of delta T in the air temperature).
Can anybody tell me how to determine this UA value?
Thanks in advance
