[EnergyPlus_Support] question about Window 5

Using the Window5 data file, will energy plus determine all the glazing dimensions including glass, frame, and divider area based upon the data file dimensions or will E+ automatically scale the entire glazing system up to the dimensions I have specified in my model (3'x5'). I just want to know how much exposed glazing area I will have in my model to verify it vs other references.

Thanks
Ian

  Ian,

Since your frame is uniform you don't have to change anything. You can go ahead and use the Window5 data file in EnergyPlus.

The warning message said that this will effect my frame heat transfer calculations if the frame in the data file is not uniform (i.e. change in geometry or properties). Since my frame is completely uniform, can I just not change anything and the window heat transfer calculated will have the properties from the data file but be the 3'x5' size that I specified in my E+ program.
