You definitely want to look at example files that come with EnergyPlus. Mike Witte just suggested some. If you don't have cooling then a lot of the HVAC system stuff would be removed. I haven't actually used baseboards so I don't have any clean input files to share.
HVAC systems can be hard but only because it is new. I would not use IDFeditor since when you save the file it rearranges the objects. It is better to use a text editor and keep related objects together. Check the .bnd file and .err files all the time. Most of the time errors are node connections and controls.

I have a 2zone model and a "simple" hot water radiator system. The
boiler is placed in Zone 2 as well as 2 radiators. The 3rd radiator
is placed in zone 1.
Is there somebody who has a example-.idf file? (e.g.
BASEBOARDHEATER:WATER:CONVECTIVE)
I think without an example it will be impossible to integrate such a
system correct.
